PLEASE READ. WILL NOT HURT TO AND FORWARD. Kids are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in plastic drink bottles and capping it up - leaving it on lawns, in mail boxes, in gardens, on driveways etc. just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the rubbish, but you’ll never make it!!! If the bottle is picked up, and the bottle is shaken even just a little - in about 30 seconds or less it builds up enough gas which then explodes with enough force to remove some your extremities. The liquid that comes out is boiling hot as well. Don’t pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the gutter, etc. Pay attention to this. A plastic bottle with a cap. A little Drano. A little water. A small piece of foil. Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!! No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc. Please ensure that everyone that may not have email access are also informed of this.

Snopes confirms.

What, are these kids budding sociopaths or something?

I’ve dealt with these before. If you find one:
Do not touch it
Do not touch it
Do not let anyone else touch it
Clear the area around it. It will explode on its own in time.
Once it explodes, do not make contact with the liquid inside. If needed, flush it away with large amounts of water.
Do not try to detonate it. You’ll probably be disfigured.
I’ve seen what these can do. The acidic liquid inside can strip the paint off a car.

might as well go around shooting people in the face fucking asshole kids (and not so kids)

Back in my day for fun we played in mud and rode bikes but this shit right here is OC!!  Go play a video game if this is what you are going to be doing when you are outside. No One Is Safe Apparently !!

Q. Heartbreak, USA: I am considering having a child with my married ex-boyfriend. We recently reconnected and have spent time together, without things going too far. I still love him and he claims he never stopped loving me. After our breakup…

Nielsen reported this spring that there are now over 5 million cord cutters in the U.S., up from 3 million in 2007. In these “zero tv” households, almost half were under the age of 35.

(via TechCrunch)

It’s important to note that “zero TV” doesn’t mean these homes don’t have televisions — most do. It simply means they’re not paying for cable.
The graph above clearly illustrates what might be considered a “trend”. Or, to put it another way, winter is coming.

Costco CEO Craig Jelinek supports raising the minimum wage.

Costco announced record profits today, averaging $10,000 in profit per employee compared to $7,400 at Walmart. The secret to Costco’s success is paying employees well, providing benefits, and giving them an opportunity to unionize.

So large corporations’ excuses that treating & paying workers well would damage profits are all a crock of shit.

Fascinating. The photographer says “These are pictures of my wife Bebe and her three sisters that I’ve taken for thirty-one years now. The first picture was just made on a weekend when I was with my in-laws. I’d been married four years. The woman on the left is Heather. Heather was 23, Mimi was 15, Bebe was 25, and Laurie was 21.”

Quote
"In five years I don’t think there’ll be a reason to have a tablet anymore. Maybe a big screen in your workspace, but not a tablet as such. Tablets themselves are not a good business model."

BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins during an interview at the Milken Institute conference in Los Angeles yesterday.

Oh boy. Heins may want to check with Apple on their tablet business, because it sure seems like a good model.

There are some quotes that I’m pretty sure will come back to bite someone in the ass. This one I’m sure about.

I’ll make my own prediction: In five years, tablets will be an exponentially bigger business than BlackBerry, because BlackBerry will no longer exist.
